Program Director

Rebecca Browning

As a child, Rebecca grew up singing, dancing and acting on stage from a young age through high school.  She performed professionally and did film and voice-over work.  In addition to the arts, she was active in youth agriculture organizations such as 4-H and FFA.  She first attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo as an Agriculture major hoping to be an Agriculture Teacher.  However, still having a passion for theater and stepping away from it was challenging.  Rebecca decided to transfer to Chico State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre, concentrating her efforts in Theatre Education.

Upon graduation she worked with many schools and studio groups producing shows and privately teaching classes in Acting, Dance and Singing.  Rebecca then received her credential in English and History and started teaching in Marysville, CA.  In 2014, she started working at Lyman Gilmore and have been there since teaching Musical Theater to 5th-8th grades.  Rebecca loves being able to introduce the world of Musical Theater to her students and help them build a foundation of theatre in the classroom and on-stage.  She hopes that in the future her students will become lifelong arts and theatre supporters.
